Two events are of utmost importance to Seniors citizens. The birth of a new baby ensures us that life goes on. Babies give us a sense of renewal and a guarantee that our genetics, humble though they may be, will carry on for another generation. Graduations give us a sense of renewal and hope for the successes of those who carry our genes.
Graduation tells us that our Grands are regarded by society as having what it takes to contribute to the greater good. It is a gives us a wonderful sense of pride and accomplishment knowing that they can jump in there and compete with the best of them. They will carry forward what we have accomplished.
At Graduation we are proud to see the first of the next generation become bon a fide adults. We dream for them and with them. We would walk a thousand walks showing off our graduated grandchildren, proud with every step that they are capable, ready and able to carry upon their shoulders all that we have worked for.
Speaking for Grandparents everywhere, I proudly say “Congratulations and job well done!” We are glad that we have played a role in making you the wonderful young adult that you have become. We love you way more than you will ever know. Way to go, Class of 2018!
